Teaching Interests:
Most of the courses he teaches address inequality, such as The Sociology of Gender, Graduate Seminar in Gender, and American Diversity: Contested Visions of the U.S. Experience. 
Research Interests:
Faculty Advisor, Habitat for Humanity; Editorial Board, Teaching Soc. and Gender and Soc.; Men and Masc.; Disability; Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

His research focuses on the intersection of gender and disability and the body in social life.

Tom Gerschick earned his doctorate from the University of Michigan.
