Internships provide important practical and professional experience for students facing a competitive job market. Internships are arranged in consultation with the undergraduate advisor. Sociology majors enroll in Internship in Applied Sociology (SOA 398.01) and Anthropology majors enroll in Professional Practice: Internship/Co-Op (ANT 398) to receive internship credit. Students may use six (6) credits of professional practice toward their sociology major. Sixteen (16) credits overall may count toward graduation. Students work 50 hours per credit hour of internship. For example, a 3 hour internship requires 150 hours of work.
