Nicole Roth

Nicole Roth currently serves as Associate General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.  After earning B.A.s in Anthropology and Art History from Illinois State University in 2002, she went on to work in cultural resource management for several years, while also earning her M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006.  From 2007-2009, Nicole spent her time raising a new baby, selling real estate, and teaching humanities at Waubonsee Community College. In 2009, Nicole decided to take a different approach to cultural heritage and enrolled in the Intellectual Property: Museum, Art, and Cultural Heritage Law program at Depaul University College of Law, graduating cum laude in 2012.  Nicole was lucky enough to combine her interests in cultural heritage, museums, and the law by working for the Field Museum's General Counsel from 2011-2013.  Since 2013, Nicole has worked for the State of Illinois in various non-cultural heritage related legal positions, but enjoys staying involved in cultural heritage issues as much as possible, by serving on this Board and by assisting with DePaul's annual Cultural Heritage Law Moot Court Competition
